The historical roots of the market are at the end of the 18 century, where they started selling and buying plants, flowers, seeds and fruits on a marketplace called Hopfenmarkt in Hamburg. In 1914 a hall was built and in 1984 the market moved into a new hall, where it is happening until today just beside the separated wholesale market for vegetables and fruits.
I really like the atmosphere of this market and although it was quite early in the morning (I made my panos bwtween 4 and 7 o’clock) it is a very fresh and lively atmosphere.
