Almost all cities in Denmark has during the last 40 years got their Walking Streets, free of traffic.

The central market place has become a parking place in many cities. The walking street has become a part of the shops along it and almost all shops are marketing special offers outside on the street usually without anyone guarding them.

The panorama is from the main walking street in Aarhus which was inaugurated in 1972.
