Assen is the capital of the province Drenthe in the northeastern part of the Netherlands. In the centre of this town there is a market on Wednesdays and Saturdays. This market attracts a lot of people from the area.

In this panorama, you can see on the left of the flower stand the District Court in the background. On the right of this stand is the building of the Drents Museum, which has a large collection of prehistoric objects on display. Drenthe has a lot of prehistoric sites which are worth visiting.

On a market in the Netherlands, you can often see stands which sell the 'typical Dutch' wooden shoes (klompen in Dutch). This market has also got such a stand. Many farmers in this area actually still wear these wooden shoes.

Taken with a Nikon CoolPix 900s, Nikon 0.66x Wide Angle Converter WC-E24 (24mm). Mounted on a Manfrotto tripod with Super Pro Head and Kaidan Kiwi 900/950 panohead. Processed with Adobe Photoshop 5.5 and PanoTools 2.2.0 for dewarping, stitched with QTVR VR Authoring Studio 1.0.1.
