Antiguo balsa de transbordo que cruzaba la Laguna Cahuil, para dar continuidad a un camino rural hacia la localidad de Bucalemu. La Balsa de Transbordo que era tirada a mano por una cuerda metálica anclada a ambos extremos de la Laguna. Hoy en día el antiguo transbordador está en desuso, lo singular del lugar era que este era el inicio de las Salinas de Cahuil, una actividad económica fundamentalmente artesanal, que hoy se encuentra con inconvenientes consecuencia del terremo del 27-F.
