Theme
Dancing can surely be considered as being part of the culture of a place. Some dances are old, some are new. For the culture theme I selected the Schäfflertanz, a quite old one, that can rarely be seen. Every seven years it is performed during the carnival. Schäfflertanz translates to "Dance of the coopers." It is said that in the year 1571 the coopers started dancing on the streets to bring the inhabitants of Munich back onto the streets after a pest epidemic. Nowadays this habit is performed all over Upper Bavaria.
Making Of
The shooting was done with a double monopod construction which allows for easy and fast rotation. The lens was mounted with a custom-made bracket which allows me to mount the lens to turn around the no-parallax point of the lens. I took three exposures at every direction and then used exposure fusion to combine the different shots. However in the end I chose the medium exposure and just used the fused part for the sky.
