Time, tracks and scars of its continuous running walk, fragility of any human building and oneiric power of ruins feed their work, taking the shape of an alternative archaeology inhabited by a worried and imaginative melancholy.
In 1983 this gigantic column was erected on a rest area of A 89 highway (Suchères resting place), halfway between Saint Etienne and Clermont-Ferrand. A standing column, about 9 meters high, collapsing down in seven parts along on a distance of about 50 meters.
A really great poetical work, is the severe Bois Noirs landscape a symbol of man’s overweening pride or just a reminder of human fragility?
