Welcome to Edinburgh. This view was taken of the whole city from Arthur's Seat, the highest point in Holyrood Park in the city center.

In August of every year the city comes alive with the world's largest collection of arts festivals, over 40,000 performances take place, with nearly 2,000,000 tickets sold.

The original and modest "Edinburgh International Festival" was started in 1947 by the city fathers to encourage tourism after the Second World War. 8 groups who were not "invited" turned up anyway and performed on what was soon to be called the "festival fringe." Over the next 65 years the unmoderated "Fringe" has grown to dominate the Edinburgh August scene, with the original "International Festival" and numerous other special interest festivals running in parallel, all feeding off the huge numbers of tourists and locals who attend.

Equipment
4 GoPro HERO2 cameras, with a prototype camera cradle/rig, triggered by 4 gentWIRE camera syncronisers. Suspended below a Dan Leigh Trooper kite with 6ft/2m span.

This technique produces two hemispheres, and a different workflow in PTGui from the classic ground pano technique. This results in extra effort BUT impossible angles!

See the rig, how Kite Aerial Photography is achieved, and the workflow.
