The little church in Lavin was built end of the 15th century. The paintings on the wall of the choir section are dated between 1490 and 1500. During the reformation in 1529 they were completely covered with chalk and were only rediscovered and restored in 1955-56. Today they are one of the most valuable pieces of art in the region. Particularly remarkable is the seldom seen representation of the trinity by a figure with three faces. (The only similar representation I have seen so far can be found in the St. Nicolas church on the hill, in Sighișoara, Romania).
