The Queenswood Country Park and Arboretum covers a large area compromising of a 67 acre arboretum containing over 1,200 rare and exotic trees from all over the world and a 103 acre area of semi-natural ancient woodland. The planting of the trees started in 1953 to mark the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. Now there is a collection of Californian Redwood trees that can grow to over 100 meters tall and a collection of Japanese Maples that present a fantastic show of colour through the autumn.

This is a view I've wanted to capture for a number of years but for one reason or another I had previously missed. The Park is about an hours drive from home and so wasn't a quick trip to see how the Autumn colours were progressing.

It's very difficult to explain how bright the colours are to others, I really haven't played with them, they really are that bright. The autumn garden contains many Japanese Maples and so provides a very wide range of colour at the same time. From greens through yellows and reds through pinks, some colours so vivid they are almost unnatural.
