The windswept islands of Orkney just of the north coast of Scotland dont lend themselves to "forests", or for that matter many trees!

However in the 19th century various landowners tried to grow wooded areas in whatever sheltered "valleys" they could find. Binscarth is one of the largest, although it is only a few acres in size, it makes a pleasant stroll in the sunshine - sheltered from the wind!
