Normally it snows until Christmas in this location and while the snow often melts again in the meadows it stays in the forest. Not so this year.

My dream was to shoot a nice winter forest panorama, with trees covered in snow or at least hoarfrost, but this didn't come true.

When I was young I lived in the nearby village, Dennach. Back then there were old and tall fir trees in this location and I managed to climb one. It was my personal lookout. Now most of these trees have blown over or cut down, like the decomposed one visible in the foreground.
