Almeida, fortified city shows that it was built for tension times to keep Portugal safe from someone unwanted.

The aerial view shows all the fortifications around and it's a place that keeps it's history with historic houses, heraldic, museums...

If you're around visit. Cold in winter, warm in summer, friendly people, nice views and a great place to eat.
