The Kahanamoku Beach in Honolulu is partially enclosed by a pier made of large basalt rocks.
The end of the pier offers a unique viewpoint of the Kahanamoku Beach and the Saltwater Lagoon.

Equipment

Nikon Z30 + 7.5mm f/2.0, handheld, PTGui Pro 12.22

Behind the scenes

This was the most challenging handheld panorama ever. Usually taking a handheld panorama is done by carefully moving around, but with this uneven surface I had to climb to the next position while keeping the camera lens in a stationary position at the nodal point without slipping from the rocks and dropping the camera.

The first picture series was taken from a good position, but in all excitement, I had the wrong camera setting.
And one round takes a few minutes and with the rather strong winds the clouds shifted quite a bit.

Eventually I had it all perfect with a sufficient overlap between the pictures.

In PTGui, I set control points manually and optimized only for 'b' and shifting with no individual picture settings needed.

Shift correction was only minimal (<0.09%, 0.36%) and 'b' was almost zero. I used the mask feature to force the seam line around some non-matching parts.
