This oval-shaped stone structure lies on the Burn of Glaslaw in Dunnottar Woods near Stonehaven in Aberdeenshire. Sluice gates (now removed) were used to control water from the burn to create a pool for bathing.
Dunnottar Woods once lay in the grounds of the nearby (now demolished) Dunnottar House, inhabited by Lord William Kennedy and his wife, Lady Eleanor Kennedy. It is said that in the early 19th century, Lady Kennedy and her children bathed in this pool each summer.
