The castle of Chailly-sur-Armançon dates back from the 16th century. First a simple fortified house, then a veritable fortress and finally a Renaissance residence, it was acquired in 1987 by a Japanese businessman working in the medical field, Yasuhiko “Mike” Sata. A lover of Burgundy, of which he is an honorary citizen, he has completely and magnificently renovated it. He also built a golf course on the estate's seventy-five hectares of pastureland.
