With 560 meters in length; The 4 Sur Bridge crosses the Medellín River and connects with 4 of the most important roads in the city. The Puente de la 4 Sur is the longest intra-urban structure in Colombia, built by the Colombian engineering and construction firm Conconcreto, and is named after Gilberto Echeverri Mejía, in homage to this engineer, social and political leader from Antioquia. The bridge crosses the Medellín river and is a mobility alternative for commune 15 (Guayabal) and for commune 14 (El Poblado), which offers 33,000 new square meters of public space.
