The Bosphorus is the 32 km long north-south strait that joins the Sea of Marmara with the Black Sea in Istanbul, and separates the continents of Europe and Asia. The Bosphorus has been a waterway of the highest importance since ancient times. Rumeli Hisarı Fortress is at the narrowest part of the Bosphorus. This spot is one of the very popular sightseeing areas with rich history.
