The name ‘Loire’ comes from Latin word Liger which is itself a transcription of the native Gaulish name of the river. The Gaulish name ‘Liger’ comes from the Gaulish word ‘liga’ which means "the sediment or the alluvium".
The last summer was my 15th traditional annual one month journey to France and the third one with the journey along the Loire River. This time the perspective to the river was different as it was from the bicycle. No need to care where to park a car but just enjoining the landscape and the magnificent river.
