The kitchen in our 1928 bungalow had seen much better days, and we remodeled it during the current WWP timeline. (The "Before" version was my submission for the previous theme, Ruins.) Everything was removed down to the studs, and we rebuilt from there, replacing old wood paneling and acoustic tile with drywall. In trying to keep with the period and style of the house, we used real linoleum for the flooring and selected period-appropriate fixtures and colors where possible while still creating a kitchen that met our needs. (We also re-did the dining room, which can be seen from the kitchen.)

Most of the work was done by contractors, but I helped with the demo, and we tiled the backplash and did all of the painting ourselves

Trim Stain: Varathane Summer Oak with ten coats of Bullseye Amber Shellac
