Originally I wanted to contribute http://www.360cities.net/en/image/flying-over-eichelspitz-tower but then I ran into this one...We drove to Geiersnest, a 845m high saddle on the slopes of Schauinsland, Freiburg's own Black Forest mountain. The end of the street there was thick fog, it was very cold but we decided to have a short walk anyway. People we met said there is sun shortly above, so we walked up the mountain and at about 950m the fog ended.
Few meters above there is the hillock of Gießhübel with a magnificent view over the Rhine valley to the Vosges and on the southernmost Black Forest hills Belchen and Blauen.
It was warm there, people played volleyball short-sleeved until the sun was setting finally. Poor city of Freiburg laying under the fog to the north...
