This pano was shot not far inside the entrance at the first bend. The pano was shot HDR with +2/0/-2 bracketing that resulted in exposure times from 3 to 30 seconds. Diffused light painting using flashlights was performed because the cave is completely dark away from the entrance.
In person the cave displays nondescript black rock walls and ceilings and a wet/muddy solidified lava floor. However, when using long exposures and light painting the walls and ceiling display colors raging from green to purple. I'm guessing it is caused by the light painting interacting with the crystals in the lava rock.
This is the my first underground pano using light painting techniques. Sometimes experiments really turn out well and thus is my 'Best of' 2014.
