While there were a lot of street parties held around the date of the anniversary of coronation (see a previous Culture World Wide Panorama entry) a lot of places also unveiled sculptures and other works of art in commemoration of the Jubilee. Malvern was one of these places.
Malvern has long had an association with buzzards, often seen flying around the hills. Walenty Pytel was commissioned to create a sculpture and after many months of work this was revealed. What you don't really get from the panorama is scale, the pedestal it sits on is 3 meters tall which makes it impressive to see. The location is just perfect with the buzzards looking out over Malvern Priory and the rest of the Severn valley.
