The great mountain with two summits you see to the northwest is Mt. Elbrus (5,642 meters Western Summit, 5,621 meters Eastern Summit) which is considered to be the highest mountain in Europe.

Our team was lucky to admire this view from our snowy bivouac on the northern slopes of Kakhiani Peak at the altitude of 3,000 meters in the evening after two days ascent (one of them in deep snow with snowshoes) from Terskol village.
