Mt. Takao is less than an hour by train from central Tokyo, but centuries away in atmosphere. The shrine/temple complex is one of the biggest in Japan, and throngs with people at the new year. There is also a fire-walking event (rather less crowded!).

Nikon D300, Sigma 8mm circular fisheye in an Agnos ring mount on a monopod, with PTGui for stitching.
