Gentlemen, ladies, and kids start your engines…
Welcome to Delaware Speedway in Delaware, Iowa, USA, home of the 2004, 2006, 2007 & 2008 International Karting Federation 2 Cycle Speedway Grand Nationals and many types of weekly go-kart racing. Here young inspiring drivers can begin their careers anywhere between the ages of 5 and 105 with various types of engines and kart designs.
On this Sunday, a few karts are at the track for a little practice time the day after the main event in hopes of improving their skills and understanding, before the next week’s race.
If you enjoy racing and have not been to kart race you need to check this out, whether it's at this track or any other of the many tracks around the world. Kids 8-15 years of age hitting top speeds of 40-45mph and adults hitting much higher speeds with multiple engines and unique setups designed to push the limits of what can be controlled on a 1/7 mile clay/dirt oval track, this is something to see! The cost for a spectator is cheap and only slightly higher to go into the pits and get right next to the action. Stop by any trailer and I am sure anyone will give you more detailed information on the sport than you can carry, better yet, pick up kart at the local shop and jump in feet first. It's guaranteed fun!
