I shot a tour for a local gym (USA Gym, Bridgeview, IL) – not the typical health club, but the hard-core, no-frills old fashioned gym owned by a pro bodybuilder. You’ll find pro and aspiring bodybuilders working out all hours, men and women alike. The gym has two tanning rooms, so I thought I’d shoot one of them. It was a challenge. Tiled floor, drop tile ceiling, the tanning bed bulbs and their reflection in the mirror – it was essentially four separate grids, all visible and all requiring exact positioning. Then I decided to remove the camera and tripod from the mirror, and of course the tripod from the nadir.
