This panorama is taken from the Indonesian area. August 17 is Indonesia's Independence Day. During the celebration many games and events are staged, where Greased Pole Climbing is one of the popular events.
Gifts are hung from the top of the pole and it's a matter of trying to climb up and grab as many presents as you can. The two guys at the bottom of the pole were struggling to climb up. The man at the top came from nowhere and used the other two as a ladder and climbed straight to the top in a matter of seconds. The present he grabbed was some money hanging on a string.
This was one of my first attempts with a pano pole. Although maybe not my best panorama of the year, I really like taking shots of large groups where you can read people's faces.
