Around 1200 B.C. the goddess of love and beauty Aphrodite walked out of the sea foam near the rock of Petru and Romiu which to this very day towers over the southern coast of Cyprus washed by the azure waters of the Mediterranean Sea. The name of Aphrodite itself literally means “born from foam”. Aphrodite was among the twelve gods reigning on the Olympus.
The charming Aphrodite left dozens of memorable evidences on Cyprus. Beauty and love know no bounds – Aphrodite turned the whole island to her sanctuary imparting Cyprus the mythical glory of the island of love.
