The First Sunrise of 2008

Galata cape is situated in front of the Bulgarian city Varna on the other side of Varna Bay on the Black Sea coast. The panorama was shot from the old Galata Panorama restaurant, destroyed by a landslide years ago. You can see the left lighthouse on the entrance of Varna port, located on the Galata cape few scores meters from the place the photo was taken.

This is the morning after the New Year 2008 party and the panorama displays the first sunrise for year 2008. The weather was cold, the temperature was about 0°C and the wind was blowing with speed of about 15 m/s, so it was not very comfortable for photographers outside.
