I have chosen this pano as my best of the year in terms of shooting and prep time for the shoot.
Practically none. I was walking up the Banff Avenue this Sunday morning with my laptop under my arms
looking for an internet cafe, no VRshooting intended. It was early in the morning and not very many people on the streets. As I walk up I hear a parade coming on. I asked a few people if they would know what was going on....but nobody knew. I do not know what bit me then, but I started running back down the Avenue a couple of blocks where I had parked my camper. Grabbed my high pole and mounted my cam and remote while running back up to catch the action.
People looked at me in disbelieve....what is that crazy man running with a long spear in his arms?
I made it just in time to the center of the parade to fire my 4 shots a round. They were marching fast. And yes, the parade got a bit longer, if you get my drift ;-)
I could not believe it all worked out well, except for the sound was no time anymore. If you zoom in down the parade at the end of the block you can see my camper parked on the side of the street. That is where the parade ended.
On July 23, 2006, 200 cadets marched in the annual Freedom of the Town Parade in Banff AB. This prized honour is given to a unit which has a long and proud relationship with the local community. Afterward, cadets and officers enjoyed visiting shops and acting like tourists. P.S. the temperature was 30 above!
