While I'm not Catholic, I find myself drawn to the architecture of cathedrals. The atmosphere they create is a sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of day to day life.

I shot this while traveling in Quebec with my wife and chose it as my best for 2006 not because of the technical aspects involved in capturing the wide range of tonal values, but because it reminds me as a Christian to be my best at all times.

It isn't necessary to physically be in a sanctuary in order to feel safe. We can carry the sanctuary with us spiritually.
