The Copper Mill Museum shows the almost 400 year history of the once largest (18th and 19th century around 300 workers) industrial establishment in the Danish Empire. The copper mill was founded in 1633 by Christian IV, King of Denmark and Norway. It produced sheet copper for the roofs of the Danish royal castles and covering for ships as well as household items like candlesticks, cans, kettles and the "Flensburg Bucket" (Flensburger Eimer).
