The atmosphere is phenomenal. All ships have open hours to take a closer look or just a stroll on deck, or you can enjoy a short trip on the beautiful Flensburger Fjord on one of these lovingly restored and well taken care of floating museums. Although very busy the boat crews were very friendly and helpful showing me around to find the best locations for panoramas.
I only had about 15 minutes to take the shots on each ship, before casting off for the next short trip. The temperature in the machine rooms was above 65° Celsius (150° Fahrenheit) and I was a bit worried my camera would malfunction.
I have set up a Web-site of the panoramas I made that day, so if you are interested in visiting the bridge and machine room of the "Alexandra" and "Woltman", the parlour of the "Schaarörn or the deck of the "Wal", "Stettin" and "Kapitän Mayer" you are very welcome: www.inshapeweb.de/alex.html You can of course also plan a visit to the next "Flensburger Dampf Rundum" in 2007.
