Construction for the Little Chapel in the Woods began in 1939. It was designed by O'Neil Ford and his archectural partner, Arch Swank. Ford was also the designer of many other buildings around Denton and the state of Texas, including the current Denton city hall and civic center. Ford died in 1982. The roof structure is held up by parabolic arches, which are used to symbolize the concept of infinity.

The chapel is nestled in a small grove of trees at the base of the two main residence halls for Texas Woman's University. There is a statue of St. Francis of Assisi holding a dove, which can barely be seen in the grove of trees. In the distance, not captured on this shot, are new apartments which the neighborhood vehemently opposed.

More panoramas, including views of the inside, can be found on my site.
Equipment
Taken with a Nikon Coolpix 995+Kiwi 995 with the Nikon FC-E8 fisheye lens. Stitching was done with PTGui + Meticulous tweaking in Photoshop due to the one-second exposure length and high winds (which don't play nicely together).
