The Natural State Reserve of Séné's Marshes

The Brittany coast and particularly the Golfe du Morbihan (like most of the inhabited coasts of the planet) is subjected to a pressure due to both tourism and demography, which has in the course of years resulted in the disappearance of many of the wet lands, many of which were drained or have been turned into marinas.

These marshes rich in flora and in fauna play a determinant role in the ecosystem and the preservation of these areas has become necessary in view of the increasing urbanization and tourism.

The Reserve of Séné was born of the will of protectors of the environment (Bretagne Vivante - SEPNB) who have spared no efforts for nearly thirty years in order to transform this area into a sanctuary for thousands of birds.

La Bretagne littorale et en particulier le Golfe du Morbihan ( à l'instar de la plupart des côtes hospitalières de la planète ) est marquée par une double pression démographique et touristique qui s'est traduit au fil des ans par la disparition de beaucoup de zones humides, qui furent pour beaucoup asséchées, ou parfois transformées en marinas.

Ces zones humides si riches en flore et en faune jouent un rôle fondamentale dans l'écosystème et leur préservation est devenue nécessaire face à l'urbanisation et au tourisme croissant. La Réserve Naturelle des Marais de Séné est née de la volonté de défenseurs de la nature (Bretagne Vivante - SEPNB) qui n'ont pas ménagés leurs efforts depuis presque trente ans pour voir enfin cette espace devenir un sanctuaire pour des milliers d'oiseaux.

Certaines espèces y trouvent repos et nourriture pendant leurs étapes migratoires, et d'autres, un milieu idéal pour leur reproduction en toute quiétude.
