Many of the animals taken in here come from shelters (where they were not adopted) because of disfigurement resulting from deliberate maltreatment or neglect on the part of their original owners.
A couple of years ago I showed my dog Zero at New Leash On Life's Nutts for Mutts dog show. At the time NLOL was still in the progress of obtaining a permanent facility for rescued animals, which they have now achieved and are continuing to develop and expand.
The panorama on this page shows some of the rescued dogs at the E.R.A. Center and the Center's setting near Santa Clarita in southern California. A swimming pool (just behind these dogs' kennels) is used for aquatic therapy, and a roost beyond it houses various birds. The dome-shaped building is used for administration and meetings.
Visit the web site of New Leash On Life for more information about this organization.
