It's foggy for a week long, and I had been waiting for the sunshine and was bad luck. It's still a bit hazy this morning, and not turned clearer untill the noon. It's not the right weather to shoot panoramas, but I had to do so 'cause it was the last day of the deadline for this event.

In the past two or three years, we human being have been encountered to mass of natural and artificial tragedys and disasters such as Sars, earthquake, birdflue, flood, tsunami and terrorism.

My panorama for the theme Sanctury, is MaDian Park, which is assigned as a Public Emergency Refuge Area (PERA) by the municipal government of Beijing. There will be 19 PERA finished by the end of 2004, and two of them have been finished and well furnished with makeshift tents area, water, power, goods supply and medical treatment for 22,000 and 22,500 people respectively. The other 17 areas are under construction, and will be finished by the end of this year. The total area of the 19 PERA will reach to 2,820,000 sqm. and are capable for a total of 1,400,000 people to take refuge there.

This panorama shows the indecation board at the entrance of the PERA in MaDian Park, north of Beijing.
