The laundry room of an old house is a place no more then one person stays at the time. Especially, when it is at the point of freezing inside. This house is from the 30´s and it was the mothers of the family how worked down here. As fare away from the living room as it could be. A job had to be done and often a lot of it as well. The families had 5-7 kids and the husband was rairly home before late. I can imagine the thoughts these wives had doing the laundry down in this basement room. How hard their life was during the down periods after the war.I do rent this house today and not much is done with it since then. Well, it is a bit easier for me since I've got the machine installed. Anyway, this is a place where thoughts comes to mind. So near, but still so fare away.
