The Sanctuary of the Madonna della Grotta in Praia a Mare is a place of devotion and pilgrimage of amazing beauty. Almost entirely carved out of a natural karst cave opening on the side of Mount Vinciolo, the sanctuary has a recently restored access ramp which, with its well-studied lighting and pebble mosaics spangled all over it, makes the path towards the Grotto even more fascinating. Inside, one can admire the chapel of La Madonna delle Neve with a valuable marble XVI century statue and the church that preserves a copy of the statue of Our Lady of the Grotto. Mention must also be made of the evidence discovered inside the Grotto regarding stratified human settlements of the Upper Palaeolithic, the Mesolithic and even the Neolithic perio
