Princess Anne saw for herself how the square has been transformed using quality granite flagstones, providing seating terraces, flowerbeds, semi-mature trees and stunning water terraces - creating a space that's more accessible, stylish and usable.
Historically the Square forms a meeting place for the people of Nottingham and it is also the location for local events, civic protests, royal visits, celebrations and public mourning, in fact many of Nottingham's most defining moments have occurred here.
Local opinion is divided on the transformation but personally I think that it's a vast improvement over the old layout. You can form your own by looking at two older panoramas of the square on my site, follow the link which is at the bottom of the page to FullScreenPanoramas.co.uk
