Kia Ora! Here we are on our part of plant Earth where we have reached that point of short, short shadows and closeness to the Sun, where we now commence that long tilt away towards the long, long shadows of mid winter! This VR is also a tribute to the origninal rainforest of this area. The tree trunk belongs to a native Kauri (Agathus Australis). The Waitakere Ranges were forested with these ancient podacarps untill the saw millers moved in a hundred odd years ago. These trees grow enormous with specimens in northern forest remnants 2000 years old! Most of the Waitakere Ranges are now a Regional Park, or if in private ownership like our block, protected from any further development. 1900 odd years to go! A wrinkle in time indeed! Cheers Michael

Behind the scene : how this panorama was made
A learning curve in HDR workflow and output. Not too successful this time but I can only get better! I've also realised that my stitching at the base of the tree trunk is very out! Have tried to fix it to no availe. Probably entries need to be made in PTGui's Image Parameters. Just don't have the time at the moment. Something to come back to and figure out! Cheers Michael
