This image is of the square in Lancaster, Pa. The square had undergone a major change as an old historic department store, which had stood empty for years, is now a 13 story convention center and hotel. They used the exterior shell of the original building to retain the historic nature of the facade. Across the street in the distance is America's oldest active farmers market. It opened for business in 1795 and has been running twice a week since that time and is a major tourist attraction for the almost 4 million people who come through the area each year. In the center of the square is a statue dedicated to the solders from various wars. I find this most interesting as during the wrinkle of time event in 2007 a fellow photographer chose the same spot only a few hours earlier, so both previous shots are linked below.... Enjoy!
