One of the most complex panoramas I have ever made. I received an order from an organization that organizes the Song Festivals in Estonia. The task was to quickly photograph the panorama with the highest possible quality. I used a 28mm lens on a 6m pole, photographing three rows of 12 frames. But the biggest difficulty was that it was raining.
The song and dance Estonian festival tradition has been included in the UNESCO intangible cultural heritage list.
The song and dance festival is more than just a summer event that takes place four times in Tallinn in ten years; it is a way of being that helps Estonians better understand themselves and carries all the values that we consider important as a nation – love for our country, language, culture, and customs.
The event is attended by nearly ten thousand dancers and thirty thousand singers. You have to be there to understand it all!
