What do murals have to do with me holding a panorama of St. Peter's in my hands?
I was going out to photograph the panorama for this event in a place that I like for the colours, it's close to home and it's quiet, when I took a look at Facebook and saw that my friend and maestro Hans Nyberg was passed away.
Hans, who many of our group know, was a pioneer of the panoramic technique, an excellent professional photographer, and there was mutual respect.
When Pope Wojtyla died, in early April 2005, I received a message from Hans, urging me to go to St. Peter's Square and document the mourning. He would have published my work on panoramas.dk, but he made me understand that I could also publish it in online newspapers.
It was a success, I convinced the major Italian newspaper of the time to pay me (a lot!) for the shooting, and I think I was one of the first to publish a 360° reportage in a well known newspaper.
I thank him again, and I want to remember him this way.
This is a wrinkle that overlaps the times.
Ciao Hans!
