Located 30 miles to the Southeast of Flagstaff, Mormon Lake is the largest naturally-occurring lake in the State of Arizona. While at its best it is approximately 10 feet deep and 500 acres in surface, during periods of drought it is reduced to a grassy marsh. Hundreds of bird species use the lake and surrounding marshes as an ideal nesting area.
I shot this pano from the edge of the last step of the East shoreline cliffs overlooking the lake after a late-season snowfall using a 15 foot mast. The Equinox here occurred at 8pm local, so I captured the lake just before sunset (about two hours before the equinox) while the sunlight held.
