Minutes Prior to Totality.

North American Solar Eclipse 2024

I drove 80km south of Ottawa to experience Totality. To a little park where a battle happened in 1835 between militia from Upper Canada, British Regulars the Royal Navy assisted by the US Navy and Army to capture American republicans known as the 'Hunters' with some Canadians who wanted a republic so they felt they could invade Canada and expected the populace to follow.

It was a perfect spot to watch the eclipse, easy parking, not too crowded.

It is Ogdensburg NY USA across the St Lawrence River and Seaway. As I was driving in two large freighters were passing by.

Equipment

Insta 360 one inch using Insta360 Studio 5.0, Affinity Photo,

In the pano you can see me with Nikon z6ll with z24x200mm lens on a Manfrotto tripod, with home made solar filter made from a clean recycled coffee cup from Tim Hortons, a Canadian coffee and donut institution and a 6x6 inch solar filter from Amazon. Made filter for camera and made my prescription glasses.

# 1priority was to enjoy the once in a lifetime (mine) event;

#2 get some photos, videos, 360 panos and 360 video and video photos from the drone.

I did really enjoy the atmosphere and solar show. Got some photos that surprised me considering the guy behind me had, I'm guessing, 25-35k in equipment.
