What keeps me going? What do I wake up every morning for? My studying of mechanical engineering. And one of the cool stuff we have in college is the scanning electron microscope.

The SEM is a type of electron microscope capable of producing high-resolution images of a sample surface. Images captured have a characteristic three-dimensional appearance and are useful for judging the surface structure of the sample.

Just to get an idea of how powerful that microscope is, take a look at this snow flake magnified. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/a8/LT-SEM_snow_crystal_magnification_series-3.jpg
