Caption
This is a 360 degree panoramic photograph, I took on a Sunday morning, of the Derby Cathedral Quarter Wheel, which was officially opened to the public on Saturday, September 12th, 2009. The Big Wheel remained on Derby's Market Place until Saturday, October 31st.

While it was here in Derby over 28,000 people went on it. After it was taken down in October it was re-erected in Liverpool the following week.

It took 6 days to build, and is 60m (197 ft.) tall in the Market Place, has 40 observation pods and weighs 365 tonnes.

The Big Wheel was located on Derby Market Place in front of Derby Assembly Rooms. Other things you can see in my photograph are the BBC Big Screen, Derby Quad, Derby Guild Hall Theatre and Derby War Memorial.

If the Big Wheel returns to the city of Derby in the future I will advertise the fact on my Blog.
